Joe Mychalczuk, M.S., Founder
Joe Mychalczuk is an Exercise Scientist with a Master's Degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. He received his Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification and Exercise is Medicine Level III credential with the American College of Sports Medicine upon graduation in 2015. He completed his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and Sport Studies at Rutgers University and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2013.
Early in his career, Joe worked with high school and collegiate athletes as a strength and conditioning coach and ultimately transitioned into clinical exercise physiology. Following 3 years in cardiac rehabilitation and physical medicine and rehabilitation, Joe transitioned into the medical device industry where he currently works in clinical research. Joe draws from all of his experiences in order to create lifestyle programs that are manageable and impactful.
He is driven to find a source of motivation that will encourage clients to commit to a lifetime of desired behaviors. To do that, he looks to the universal fate of all living beings; death. He believes death should no longer be something that is ignored, feared, avoided or fought. It should be embraced because when we embrace death, we are acknowledging that tomorrow is not guaranteed. The simple act of talking about your death long before you think you are going to die can have a transformative effect on all aspects of life and well-being.
Joe has worked with patients who have changed their lives following a near death experience, watched families have difficult conversations about the utility of implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) and has witnessed the stress and trauma that can be inflicted upon the family and friends of a loved one who they are not ready to let go of. Speaking about death will become normal for anyone working with Joe and they will quickly realize what is and what isn't important in their life.
Joe leverages his mortality to compete to live, and he will help you do the same.
